InstaDeep is always striving to deliver on its mission of an AI-first world that benefits everyone. This is reflected in the company’s active relationships and formal partnerships with leading academic institutions around the world, including the renowned Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley universities in California, where InstaDeep has proactively built a calendar of informational talks, company presentations and recruitment events for students and faculty. The company has also affiliated with the Stanford Computer Forum, a cooperative venture between the Computer Science and the Electrical Engineering Departments at Stanford, and several dozen external companies located in Silicon Valley and across the US, Asia and Europe.

The Stanford University and UC Berkeley initiatives are managed by Alain-Sam Cohen, Engineering Lead in InstaDeep’s San Francisco office, as part of the company’s ongoing commitment to supporting the ecosystem, inspiring the next generation of talent and offering hiring opportunities to work at the forefront of advanced decision-making AI in research, engineering and associated back-office roles.

The San Francisco office opened in 2022, to serve a varied range of customers and projects in the region that required expertise in cutting-edge applied machine learning, applied reinforcement learning and large language models. The team is led by Alain-Sam; and is based in the fast-growing East Cut business district, home to some of the most innovative companies in the world.

Alain-Sam commented, “I am excited to be in the heart of the San Francisco tech neighborhood, and working with forward-thinking companies who are using InstaDeep’s extensive AI knowledge to solve their complex industrial problems.  We are actively growing the office in terms of client projects, product development, team, and ecosystem visibility and look forward to realizing this vision.”

Karim Beguir, Co-Founder and CEO of InstaDeep, followed on, saying, “our US clients needed us on the ground with them, and San Francisco was an obvious choice given the many innovative companies based on the West Coast who would be able to leverage our expertise in advanced AI. Our relationships with academia are also really important for us, as we seek to inspire and motivate the next generation of AI talent, so being in close proximity to Stanford University and UC Berkeley was key”.

The company has already participated in two careers fairs at Stanford, in October 2022 and January 2023; and attended a third event at UC Berkeley in April 2023. Alongside this, InstaDeep Research Engineer Narimane Hennouni is also participating in local Women TechMakers (WTM) and Google Developer Group (GDG) events, as well as multiple events and conferences specifically supporting and encouraging women in technology and data science – another important area of interest for the company. These events are an opportunity for students to meet face to face with experienced InstaDeep Engineers, Scientists and other AI specialists, to learn more about the industry and current developments; as well as find out about employment and internship openings available within the company.
