IndabaX South Africa – Using MARL to Play StarCraft II

Continuing the company’s commitment to supporting and building the AI and ML community across Africa following the highly successful IndabaX Tunisia, InstaDeep is also organizing a session as part of IndabaX South Africa 2021.

The South African event will run from 3 September – 26 November, and has been organised as an innovative ‘roadshow’ format of events and competitions, each one hosted by a top South African machine learning lab or company.

InstaDeep’s session is on 29 October, from 14:00 – 16:00 SAST (South Africa Standard Time), and will be an exciting challenge based on the theme of “Playing Starcraft and Saving the World Using Multi-agent Reinforcement Learning (MARL)”! The two-hour, interactive event will be a step-by-step guide on how to train a team of terran marines to defeat their enemies, controlled by the built-in game AI in StarCraft II.
